How Can Kids Learn English Better?

By Bringing the Key Skills in Learning English Alive!

Many young learners struggle in acquiring the key skills needed for learning English successfully. These key skills include speaking standard English fluently and appropriately, adapting their spoken English for different purposes and listener, and the use of gesture, tone, pace and pause. And, more importantly, how to evaluate their effectiveness through their use of English.

For many young learners, learning English through their English lessons at school may not be enough. A different approach may be required so that a young learner learning English may experience English by bringing the key skills alive.

It was for this reason that in 2010 we created Little Voices Academy so that young learners could learn English through the delivery of our London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) programmes. We found that young learners learning English through our LAMDA learning pathways, particularly the Verse and Prose Learning Pathway, had a greater understanding and acquisition of English. In addition, our learners could speak English fluently with intonation, stress, rhythm, and tone. They also learned the technique of pitch, pause and pace with ease making their key skills in English engaging and effective. Our approach to young learners learning English is reflected in their LAMDA achievements as our learners have a high success rate in LAMDA Merit and Distinction passes.

We have come a long way since 2010. Today, we receive enquiries from all around the world for Little Voices Academy LAMDA tutelage - these enquiries come from parents, NGOs and independent schools. We also assist other learn English providers with our learn English programmes for young learners and specialised English elocution and pronunciation training courses.

Although our UK and Online Live teaching LAMDA team are always in demand, we continue to run our Little Voices Academy, London six week courses at certain times of the year. So, we are delighted to announce that we have now set the dates for this year's Little Voices Academy courses.

And what is our next step?

Our next step will be to form a LAMDA Examination private centre in Abuja so that as many young and adult learners may benefit from our elocution classes or accent reduction courses through the LAMDA learning pathways for professional communication development.

LAMDA Elocution for Children Nigeria - A Success Story

IF I WAS A FAIRY

By Azeemah

If I was a famous fairy,

I would touch the super star in the stern sky.

And make pink paint fall like rain

while the rainbow strip appears.

If I was a phantom fairy,

I would scare people in the dark with my spiky spider pet.

For my spider looks so big like an elephant in the dark.

And I am also a great giant to behold.

If I was a friendly fairy,

I would play with awkward animals.

Playing a game of animal catcher.

And playing awkwardly all day.

But, now I am a happy human.

I will do what happy humans do.

For I will hop in the sun,

and sing my favourite tunes.

From LAMDA Elocution for Kids Nigeria, have a wonderful week!
