Lesson No 4 – Articulation Exercises Muscularity and Word

Vowel Exercises - The Lips

'Speaking Properly for Children' is important. Clear English Pronunciation or good Elocution continues to be considered essential for your child's progression.

What is the secret of acquiring a British English Pronunciation or a British English Accent?

British English Pronunciation requires good vowel sounds. In the world of sound, when we speak about vowel sounds, we are not referring to 'a, e, i, o, u or y' as in written English. We are referring to the spoken English vowel sounds. These vowel sounds are long and short, open and closed.

These 'English Pronunciation - Articulation Vowel Exercises' called 'Articulation Exercises Muscularity and Word' aim to help your child develop strong British English Pronunciation vowel sounds.

To help you achieve good vowel pronunciation, it is important to practise articulation exercises. These exercises aim to produce the long vowel sounds of the British English pronunciation for a British English Accent.

As with 'Articulation Exercise Sheet No 1', watch the video clip and pay special attention to the lip and mouth position. Listen carefully and closely to the sounds. Repeat the vowel exercises. If your child has followed one of our 'Elocution for Kids Courses' or 'LAMDA Elocution Courses', then join in some of the exercises using your 'Exercise Sheet No 2 - Muscularity and Word'. If you child does not have 'Exercise Sheet No 2 - Muscularity and Word', then it may be purchased for our Shop.
